Something different

So it’s been a while; between writing my last post and now Spring has finally sprung, I can’t enter a shop without being tempted to buy a Creme Egg and it appears that Mother’s Day is almost upon us.

I hate to be all smug and that, but I’m usually pretty good when it comes to sorting the Mother out with some treats to mark the occasion. In her defence, she’s pretty easy to buy for.

However, this year, she’s also celebrating a rather large and important birthday (I’m not one to tell, but it’s not 40. Or 60. Or 55. Oops), so all my present-buying energies have gone into that, and Mother’s Day has kind of fallen by the wayside.

But all is not lost. In the quest to find her something a bit different this year, I stumbled across Rustic Angels. God bless the internet. God may also bless the property ladder – as Mother is moving house this year and wants “all new stuff” it kind of gave my search some direction, and as soon as I saw this website I knew I’d hit the jackpot.

If, like me, you want to steer away from the traditional flowers/chocolates/bubbly route for your mum too, then give this website a thorough look. Shabby chic interiors are huuuge right now, and I guarantee there will be something here for everyone.

If none of this floats your boat (which would be madness, quite frankly) and you’d prefer something a bit more traditional, then head to Tesco. They’ve got a great range of well-priced, stylish looking gifts in store at the moment. Here’s a few that caught my eye…

I’ll take this moment to confess that I may have bought one or two of these things for myself. All in the name of research…
